Apple and Blueberry Crumble

Apple and Blueberry Crumble

Ingredients

Filling
5 Granny Smith Apples, peeled, cored and thinly sliced
1/2 punnet of blueberries, washed
1 cinnamon stick
30g butter, softened

Crumble Topping
300g plain flour, sifted
175g brown sugar, unrefined
200g unsalted butter, cubed
50g Flannerys Own Certified Organic rolled oats

Preparation

1.Preheat the oven to 180c and grease a square baking dish.
2.To make the filling, heat 30g of butter in a pan and cook the apples until they just start to soften.
3.Add the sugar and cinnamon stick and sugar and continue to stir until the apples are cooked. Add the blueberries and stir gently continuously. Discard the cinnamon stick.
4.Place the filling into the bottom of the baking dish and set aside.
5.Now to make the crumble topping. In a large bowl combine the flour, sugar and rolled oats and mix well. Add in the butter and rub the mixture until it resembles breadcrumbs.
6.Sprinkle the crumble mixture over the filling in the baking dish to ensure the filling is covered.
7.Bake for 40minutes, or until the crumble is golden brown.
8.Delicious served warm with your favourite ice-cream.
