If there was ever a time to adopt a simpler life, without all the extra trappings and excess, this year was certainly that for many of us. The financial restraints that have become common place all around have added lots of challenges and changes in almost every country and made us all take stock of our own personal circumstances in order to ride out the worst of the financial crisis. In 2009 Flannerys pulled out all stops to add extra value for our loyal customers, and deliver best value and best quality in the products we sell to you. We’ll continue to introduce new choices so you will have a wider range of goodies to enjoy. We have also worked with many small producers and new or emerging brands to assist them to find a place in the market. We are just so lucky that we have this magnificent country to enjoy - and the more companies like Flannerys, and caring consumers like you, support the natural and organic products industry, the longer it will stay that way. Gwinganna Prize goes to a very deserving Winner!

We are thrilled to announce the winner of our Gwinganna Lifestyle Retreat Spa Weekend for two valued at $1660. Justin Holyoake from Reedy Creek was the lucky winner and what a deserving winner he is. A self-employed landscape designer, Justin is a single dad who has the responsibility of raising his young son fulltime. When accepting the prize he told us that he had an operation a few months ago, and must have another soon, and to quote him: “it’s my birthday this week and so far all I’ve had to look forward to are more doctor’s bills – winning this prize has made my year!” Obviously Justin cares very much about ensuring the very best in healthy food, and a healthy environment for his son (and himself) – he shops with us twice weekly! Flannerys Own Festive Fruit Cake Mix
Time to make your very own Christmas Cake with our 1kg Gluten Free cake mix. Impress your family and friends when you present them with a slice of heaven that you have baked yourself and see if they believe you. This mix contains almonds, sultanas, apricots, walnuts, cherries, dates, pineapple and brazil nuts. All ingredients are Gluten Free. All you need to add is the flour, milk and eggs for the perfect cake. See our bulk section for a range of flours, including gluten free. Here's a Delicious Idea for an indulgent end to your Christmas Lunch: Mix a packet of Flannerys Festive Fruit Cake mix through a large tub of softened Organic Icecream (you can also get Gluten Free icecream from Flannerys). Pour it into a loaf tin lined with foil and generously drizzle it with your favourite drink, I use Baileys or Frangelico. Cover it over with foil or clingwrap and freeze for a number of days. Serve sliced. So easy to make and totally delicious!

ORGANIC WEEK RECIPE COMPETITION
What a difficult choice the judges had in selecting the 5 winners of a $250 Flannerys Gift Voucher in our Organic Week Recipe Competition. We received some truly 'delicious' entries. Judging was based on originality, selection of 'interesting' ingredients and/or new thinking in food creation.
