Oil Pulling

Oil Pulling An ancient Ayurvedic ritual, oil pulling was introduced to the modern world in 1992 by Dr. F. Karach, MD. Dr. Karach claimed that oil pulling could cure a variety of illnesses ranging from heart disease and digestive troubles to hormonal disorders. Oil Pulling is a safe, simple, inexpensive and gentle ‘DIY home remedy’ that has many benefits:

• It mayhelp improve diseases and other illnesses including headaches, allergies, arthritis, insomnia, infections, tooth pains, ulcers and many more.
• Healthier gums
• Reduced stiff joints
• Improved skin
• Increased energy
• Clearer sinus
• Brighter smile
• Natural detox

How to oil pull
The basic technique is simple and is best done first thing in the morning on an empty stomach.
Take one tablespoon of certified organic, cold pressed oil and swish it in your mouth for 20 minutes.
You want to swish the oil through your teeth and around your moth until the oil turns a thin, white milky consistency. The oil must not be swallowed.
Be sure to clean and rinse your mouth out properly and clean the sink afterwards. Finish by brushing your teeth or using mouth wash if you like.

How does oil pulling work?
Firstly, most oils have antibacterial properties which help kill bacteria, some also have anti-inflammatory properties.
Resting the oil in the mouth for 20 minutes allows the antibacterial agent to work its way down to protected pockets, nooks and crannies to reach harmful bacteria.
The oil mixes with your saliva, and when swished through the mouth, activates the enzymes which draws toxins out of the blood.
