
The new Active and Healthy Citywide Program, which kicked off at the end of July is a jam packed program that provides our residents with over 170 free and low cost activities each week across the city. Activities are on offer for all ages and demographics and activities are offered in parks, community facilities, pools and libraries all across the city.
The new citywide program has a range of exciting new activities including a large health and well being focus. Features of the new program include:
• Over 150 free healthy cooking classes, seminars and kick start for health programs
• Jam packed weekend experience program with new activities such as make and fly a kite workshops, park fit, self defence super sessions, mini Olympics, retro fun, sandstorm beach fun, stand up paddling, musical mornings out and much much more
• 15 $2 active & healthy aqua classes per week at City Pools
• New active & healthy after dark program
• All the regular favourites such as the stroller groups, kids after school activities, tai chi, yoga, group fitness and more
• Naturally GC workshops to help you discover the natural wonderland we have on our doorstep
• Weekly walking and running programs including 3 free parkrun events every Saturday
• Bike education programs provided by Active Travel
• The Just Walk Me program offered by Animal Management
• Sustainable gardening workshops offer by Green GC
