Make no excuses
Stop making excuses as to why you don’t have time to exercise. Everyone in the world has the same 24 hours that you do, so how is it that often the busiest people always seem to have the time to exercise? BY MAKING THE TIME – NO EXCUSES! And importantly, pick something you enjoy doing.
Consider the “Half, by Two, by Two Diet”
This diet is absolutely guaranteed to work; and it’s very simple. Eat half as much food, that’s twice as good for you and do twice the amount of exercise. It’s simple, but its also depressing, so many use the principle of this diet as a guide rather than a literal process.
Don’t set yourself up to fail
Set realistic goals and time frames, and allow for some living in there as well. For example make ‘diet days’ Monday through Thursday, with meals that are sensibly low fat and lower in starches. And also try to avoid alcohol during the week.
Be honest with yourself
The only way people gain weight is by consuming more energy than they expend - full stop. Unless you are able to identify and modify the main areas of your excess energy intake, then you will not be able to take action to reduce it. Be totally honest with yourself about your eating habits.
Accept it as a Lifestyle Option and NOT a ‘Diet’
The important thing is to enjoy being fitter, enjoy having energy, enjoy looking and feeling good in your body. If you can change your thinking so that you enjoy the process that keeps you active and healthy, then your dietary habits and exercise regime start to become a joy rather than a job.
Give Yourself a Kick-Start
Don’t feel guilty about giving yourself a kick start. There are some great products on the market today which can give you a terrific ‘kick start’ to your weight loss program. However, whilst it’s great to achieve a rapid loss in the first few weeks, the benefits will be very short term unless followed by discipline, sensible eating and a realistic plan that fits your lifestyle.
